Invitation
We would like to invite you to participate in our next, Eighteenth Annual Sydney Symposium of Social Psychology, to be held 16-19thth March 2015. These meetings are held every year on a different topic, and bring together leading international researchers in a major field of social psychology (see our website at www.sydneysymposium.unsw.edu.au for details, programs, pictures of past symposia, etc.). These small group meetings have a reputation of being among the most stimulating, enjoyable and fun conferences in our field - feel free to check with any of the past participants (click here for a list)!! The topic of next year's symposium is
THE SOCIAL PSYCHOLOGY OF MORALITY
The conference seeks to bring together researchers who are interested in understanding what social psychology can contribute to our understanding of moral thinking and behaviour, the use of morality and moralising in social and interpersonal behaviour, and in turn, how ideas about morality and moral ideology can influence social psychological research. As always the topic is broadly defined and we are interested in contribution from a wide variety of theoretical backgrounds. Our aim is to survey the latest developments in theory and empirical research in this exciting and rapidly developing area. Given your important contribution to this field, we really hope that you will be able to participate. Contributions will be subsequently published in a book form by Psychology Press, New York. Invited contributions should be first authors on the paper, and normally present an overview of a significant area of research emphasizing especially the latest theoretical and empirical developments (the target word length for the eventual chapter is 6000 words, so it is a fairly concise project).
We very much hope that you will be able to come to Sydney next March. If you can accept our invitation, please -
- Indicate your acceptance or rejection of our invitation in the next few days; and please send us an abstract of your proposed paper within the next ten days, and
- We will also need to receive an advance written draft text of your contribution by December 31st 2014.
